Drivers who purchase one of the vehicles that comprise the Infiniti M Series will expect to pay higher car insurance premiums for their luxury vehicle. However, many drivers don’t know that they can realize significant savings on car insurance if they take advantage of certain discounts available from some auto insurers. For instance, owners of the Infiniti M Hybrid can receive a discount of up to ten percent from Farmers and Travelers Insurance companies. Many auto insurance companies also offer discounts to customers with safe driving records and multiple auto insurance policies.
Yet another way to save money on auto insurance is to reduce the amount of coverage that you purchase. However, if you invest in a high-end vehicle, you’ll probably want to protect that investment by purchasing comprehensive coverage. It’s also a good idea to purchase extra coverage against uninsured or underinsured motorists, since many drivers’ policies are not sufficient to cover expensive repairs for your luxury vehicle. You can get car insurance quotes for all Infiniti M Series vehicles by entering your zip code into the box, but read this article first to find out how the Infiniti M Series ranks among its competitors.
Facts About the Infiniti M Series
The first member of the Infiniti M Series family went on the market in 1990 as the M30 coupe, but the first Infiniti M45 sedan did not appear until 2003. This initial foray into the large luxury car market was quickly replaced in 2005 with a redesigned Infiniti M that competed directly with the Mercedes-Benz E Class and the BMW 5 Series. The third generation 2011 Infiniti M Series was unveiled in 2010, and includes both a hybrid version and a diesel model.
Sales of the Infiniti M Series peaked in 2006 with 25,658 units sold. More recently, Infiniti sold 14,618 units of the M Series in 2010. U.S. News and World Report, which ranks the Infiniti M Series first among large luxury vehicles sold in the United States, says that the Infiniti M Series has never garnered much attention from consumers despite glowing critical reviews. For instance, despite its seventh place finish on U.S. News and World Report’s list of large luxury vehicles, the BMW 5 Series sold 39,488 units in 2010, which is more than the Infiniti M Series sold in its best year.
Awards for the Infiniti M Series
Besides its first place ranking from U.S. News and World Report, the 2010 Infiniti M Series won Ward’s “Interior of the Year” designation, and the 2011 Infiniti M Series was named Popular Mechanics’ “Top Luxury Pick.” The 2011 Infiniti M Series was also chosen as a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Infiniti M Series Options and Trims
